80 years of Batman.

The caped crusader is 80 years old!  He was my favorite superhero growing up because he didn’t have super powers....just hard work. He also had a strength of facing his fears.  Don’t be afraid, don’t worry....you will always be taken care of.  Here is to you Batman!

Soccer life.

So this past weekend, I coach my middle-ish daughter, we had a game and we were down 0-2.  We came back, and my daughter hit a wonderful shot to equalize the game!  It was 2-2....game on....well we ended up losing 2-6.  But soccer isn’t about winning or losing (sure it is nice to win) but it is about moments....that was a great moment, a great story.   I will hold onto that one, these kids played great.....and lost:). Proud.  Enjoy your moments because they come and go.

Set free.

Set free this year!  School is upon us tomorrow and Captain Marvel was our last family movie night of the summer!  Awesome flick to watch with all my ladies. What happens when YOU set free?

Peace on your week.

Whelp, school starts for my wife and I today....even though it is a busy time for us as school begins, we are good at finding peace through it all!  Probably because we are blessed to be doing it in the first place.  We wish you peace this week as well.

Perspective.

Living with 5 ladies gives me something called perspective.  Which is defined in the dictionary as : a particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view.  Raising 4 daughters, being married to a beautiful wife, owning a girl dog....I am blessed with perspective. These ladies make me a better man!

All hands on deck.

Shazam! My buddy Marc told me about this scene in the movie Shazam! where the family would pray for their meal by putting all their hands together and say “All hands on deck”.  Basically, when you are all in together.....you have strength together. So I became inspired to not just watch the movie, but also throw down a doodle of Shazam! himself.

Back from WCYC.

Back from a week at Wisconsin Christian Youth Camp!  It was an awesome experience.  Here is this year's doodle. We were certainly Wrapped up, Tied up, Tangled up, in Jesus, Oh Yeah!  Looking forward to next year......after a few more naps of course.

Neil Alden Armstrong.

50 years ago a human stepped foot on the moon.  Amazing and all...but in the beginning God created the moon....somehow! All things are possible so go make things happen today.

Foxy.

Have you ever tried to sketch something....anything....and then you just sketch a fox out of nowhere? I did!  So many things come out of nowhere, keeps life interesting me thinks.

Morning.

I am enjoying my slower summer mornings!  Usually it is pretty fast and furious around here, trying to get up and be somewhere on time....or close to on time.  This morning I sketched for a second, this is what I thought of.  Now what? Probably another sip of coffee....

Tattoos are for life.

So, while I was attending a Madison Forward soccer match I saw this guy that had a tattoo of a print of a soccer ball on his calf....I almost ran up to him and kicked it!!! You have to be careful because tattoos are for life!  My oldest daughter dared me to kick him, but I refrained.  If you do not have a Tattoo, what would it be?

Montana Livin!

I woke up the other day to my youngest daughters flying by the window chasing a bunny while I was trying to enjoy the Montana mountains.  These two just made me enjoy the view a little more!  So of course I had to use the inspiration they gave me to do a sketch.

Madison Forward Flamingos.

I was inspired to sketch a flamingo after first going to Florida on vacation and then attending a Madison Forward soccer match when I returned. Their mascot is the flamingo....based off of a prank some UW college kids did with thousands of plastic flamingo lawn ornaments back in the day. Also the team, I believe, is the only professional team to claim pink as their main color for their club......ever. Inspiration?

Happy Birthday Falcon!

Happy Birthday to my superhero buddy Rob!  I grew up with this guy, he is actually my brother from another mother. My family took him in for two years while we were in High School. Can you imagine one of your best friends ever all of sudden lives with you. Whelp, that is what it was.  Good times!  Keep the good times rolling Falcon!

Coachering.

Lately this is what I have looked like coaching soccer this Spring!  It is kind of miserable and kind of AWESOME!  The mixture of the two I call “coachering”. It is a verb, means to coach in awful, awful weather and loving it.  I love being forced to be out in the elements.    Of course getting the players to give it their all helps make it worth while. I still can’t feel my face though:)

The Persistent Bird.

There is a bird that keeps trying to build it’s nest right above our back door where we go in and out....I have been removing it every morning. I don’t mean to be rude but I fear getting pooped on every time I go out the back door.  The bird just isn’t getting the message! I give the critter credit for being persistent however.

Dragosaur.

Here is a little sketch I did inspired by a friend that wrote a poem about a dinosaur that was driven to become a dragon!  I doodled this while my kids were participating in an event called “The Bible Bowl”! Here is to creativity.

Slothy.

This was the last weekend before soccer is EVERY weekend until summer!  Between two high school teams, one U13 team, and a U10 team, we will be spending most of our life on the soccer field this Spring.  One way to look at it is a little taste of Heaven!  So I sketched a sloth waving hello to busyness. Here we go......embrace where you are!
